Traditional metal braces involve the use of elastic ties. Elastic ties often make it easy for food to get caught between the teeth which traps bacteria, this can cause discomfort and make it harder to clean. The Damon System eliminates the need for elastic ties around the brackets, which makes it much easier to maintain good oral hygiene and healthy gums.

You can achieve a wider, healthier smile in much less time than with conventional braces. It is proven that a wider smile is associated with a more youthful appearance and overall improvement in facial profile.

The Damon System can be made from metal braces or clear braces.

Fixed Ceramic (Clear) Braces

Fixed braces can also be manufactured from a white ceramic material.

These clear braces will deliver the same result as your conventional metal braces, but they are a great option for patients who are concerned about the aesthetics of traditional braces or are not suitable for Invisalign.

Fixed Metal Braces

Fixed metal braces consist of metal brackets, which are bonded to the teeth with a special ‘arch-wire’ tied into the brackets. This is the conventional ‘Train Track’ brace. The wires are changed at 6–8-week intervals until the teeth reach their ideal position, this gives our orthodontists full control over each individual tooth movement.

Metal braces are more visible than any other orthodontic appliance, but they are the most popular option with most patients. They are cost effective and have become a fashion status with our youngest clientele.
